Global Missions

The Mission of the Church is Missions -- The Mission of Missions is the Church.

Evangel has long supported global missions thru the Assemblies of God spreading the Gospel to the uttermost parts of the world. We currently provide regular monthly support to over 30 missionaries located in various countries around the world.

Our youth traveled to Spain in 2002 to assist a congregation in Valencia la Castellon with street witnessing and children's ministry. In 2004 a group of youth reached out with the love of Christ to our neighbors in Ensenada, Mexico. Some of our college-age youth have traveled to other cities in the US as well as overseas, from Vietnam to Uganda, to minister to people in need. A 2007 trip to Indianapolis, IN provided our youth another opportunity to share God's love with our neighbors. The Bethel, Alaska area was the destination of the youth trip in 2008 and 2009 adult missions outreach. A return trip of youth and adults to Bethel, AK occured in 2010. Planning has already begun for another Alaska mission in 2011. See Arise Alaska.

Each fall at the Light for the Lost Banquet individuals are given an opportunity to hear first hand from a missionary of the benefits of the Light for the Lost literature program. Committments are made to support the programs activities throught the world. This is above and beyond the regular missionary support. The banquet is held with the cooperation of other area Assembly of God churches.

Through the year we are visited from time to time by missionaries who are home on furlough and new missionaries raising support for the work to which they have been called. They share with us their experiences, visions, challenges, and a message from the Word of God.

Each spring and fall we have a time of missions emphasis. Special missionary guests bring a fresh challenge to us to look beyond our day-to-day world and remember those who have never heard even once of the Grace of God through Christ Jesus.
